Sheila Anne Cooper
Sheila Anne Cooper, 90, of Slippery Rock passed away Saturday at the Countryside Convalescent Home in Mercer.
She was born on April 19, 1925, on her parents' farm in Worth Township, Butler County, to Clyde Lamont Moore and Jennie Amanda Drake Moore.
Sheila graduated from Slippery Rock High School in 1943 and married Carl Willard Cooper on Dec. 20, 1946. She was a homemaker and worked with her family to operate the family farm. She worked at the farm from the time she was a child and through her life.
She is a member of West Liberty United Presbyterian Church. She served at her church as an elder and had played the organ for many years. She was always involved with the women's organizations of the church.
She was a member of the Worth Grange and WCTU of Worth Township, and she served as treasurer of the West Liberty Cemetery Association. She enjoyed music, quilting, crocheting, doing puzzles, volunteering and spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Carl W. Cooper of Slippery Rock; four sons, Philip D. and his wife, Martha, Cooper of Slippery Rock; Eugene A. and his wife, Debra, Cooper of Portersville, Leslie C. and his wife, Kathleen, Cooper of Wasco, Calif., and Roger S. Cooper of Wichita, Kan.; six grandchildren, Jennifer A. and her husband, Christopher, Fleeger, Jill S. and her husband, Andrew, Matta; Jaime L. and her husband, Brian, Slamecka, Matthew G. and his wife, Krystal, Cooper, Megan E. and her husband, Cody, Seibel and Ethan R. Cooper; three great-grandchildren, Mikayla June, Miranda Alane Fleeger and Audrey Shyla Cooper.
She is preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Clark Moore; and one sister, Winifred Linderholm.
COOPER — The family of Sheila Anne Cooper, who died Saturday, May 30, 2015, will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Smith Funeral Home, 421 New Castle St., Slipper Rock.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev.
