Friday — Mark W. Pratt, 42, of Butler was charged with drunken driving stemming from a traffic stop about 12:45 a.m. April 20 at East Jefferson and North McKean streets. Police said he was going the wrong way on Jefferson Street when he was pulled over.Pratt appeared impaired and admitted he had consumed “a few drinks” that night, according to court documents. Results of a blood test later showed that his blood-alcohol level was 0.136 percent. A level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated for drivers under state law.In addition to driving under the influence. Pratt is charged with driving the wrong way on a one-way street.Thursday — Police filed criminal charges against a Butler couple after a 3-year-old boy left their home and ran into traffic in May.Bruce J. Graban, 30, and Meghan E. Grace, 31, are both charged with child endangerment, a first-degree misdemeanor.Police were called about 6:30 p.m. May 22 for a report of a small child running on Ridge Avenue. At one point, the little boy was nearly hit by a vehicle, according to court documents.Officers said the child had a bloody nose and road rash, apparently from a fall. His diaper was dirty, too. The boy was unable to tell police his name and show them where he lived. Residents did not know the child and were unable to help police identify him.Police notified the Butler County Children and Youth Services agency, who took custody of the boy. The child was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital to be examined and treated for any injuries.The child's mother eventually appeared at the police station.She told police that she had left her son with Graban and Grace about 6 p.m. that day so he could play with the couple's 6-year-old child, documents said. An hour later, when the mother returned to the defendant's house to pick up her son, Graban advised he “ran away,” a police affidavit said.The boy's mother along with a friend drove around looking for the child but were unable to find him. She later called police and found out that CYS had the boy.Officers went to the defendant's home but neither was there. Police said they also learned that Grace was wanted on a bench warrant. Butler County Court records showed that warrant was issued May 8 after she failed to appear at a court hearing in connection with a theft-related case.

Monday — Police charged Marlene L. Gustafson, 21, of Butler with allegedly stealing $251 in currency from a cash register drawer on two occasions in April while she worked at Dunham's Sporting Goods at Moraine Pointe Plaza.Gustafson is charged with a first-degree misdemeanor count of theft.Monday — Craig P. Hortert, 21, of Renfrew was charged with drugged driving stemming from a traffic stop at 2:10 a.m. May 14 on Whitestown Road.In addition to driving under the influence of a controlled substance, Hortert is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, careless driving, disregarding a traffic lane, making an improper turn and a lighting violation.9:11 p.m. Saturday — Two Butler men were cited following a fight during a wedding reception at Meridian Veterans Club on Vets Lane. The fracas broke out at the DJ booth, a police report said.The suspects — William P. Miller Jr., 33, of Butler, and Eric M. Rodgers, 36 of Chicora — both face summary charges of disorderly conduct and public drunkenness.3:30 p.m. Friday — An unidentified black vehicle struck an unspecified number of mailboxes in the 700 block of Mercer Road. The northbound vehicle did not stop after the accident.A surveillance camera at a home in the neighborhood captured on the video the suspected hit-an-run vehicle, which is described as late 1990s to early 2000s model Dodge Intrepid. The car had damage to the passenger side headlight and upper passenger side windshield.The driver is described as a man with a closed cropped beard. At the time of the hit-and-run, he was wearing a striped shirt and shorts. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-285-9600, or 911.4:13 p.m. May 23 — Tammy Hutchens, 43, of Butler allegedly made off with a wheelchair and an oxygen tank from Butler Memorial Hospital. Hutchens had been treated at the emergency room when she left with the hospital property, valued at more than $500.She told authorities she took the wheelchair and oxygen because she had no ride home, according to court documents. She is charged with theft and receiving stolen, both first-degree misdemeanors.

Sunday — Someone broke into a home on Branchton Road in Washington Township. The break-in happened between 3 a.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. Sunday. A police report did not indicate if anything was taken or if they have any suspects in the ongoing investigation.Wednesday — Coltin T. Mawhinney, 21, of Ellwood City was arrested on charges he stole 11 checks from a Worth Township woman's home last year. He later allegedly forged and cashed the checks for a combined $570.22Mawhinney was living at the victim's home on Hunt Road between July 18 and 29 when he took the checks, according to court documents.The defendant is accused of cashing the checks at a New Castle supermarket.Mawhinney is charged with theft and 11 counts of forgery, all felonies. He also is charged with 11 misdemeanor counts of bad checks. He was arraigned on charges Wednesday and placed in Butler County Prison on $5,000 bail.

6:06 a.m. May 22 — A car driven by Brody H. Shick, 20, of Rimersburg crashed into a large stone, shrubbery, a fence and tree along Route 68 just south of Silvering Road in Monroe Township. Police cited Shick for disregarding traffic lanes.

12:40 a.m. today — A 41-year-old Pittsburgh man, who police did not identify, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of a controlled substance on Route 28 in North Buffalo Township. Police noted that charges are pending results of a blood test.Sunday — An unknown burglar kicked in the back door of a 72-year-old woman's home on Waterworks Street in East Franklin Township. The crook made off with an unspecified amount of jewelry.The break-in happened between noon and 10 p.m. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-543-2011.

6:30 p.m. Monday — An unidentified hit-and-run driver in a white Ford Focus or Taurus struck a Butler woman's sport utility vehicle parked near the Coach store at Premium Outlets in Springfield Township. The suspect did not stop after the crash. The suspect's vehicle had an Ohio license plate on it.7:20 a.m. Friday — Keith J. Fowler, 45, of Slippery Rock was hurt when the car he was driving ran a red light and struck another vehicle on Route 208 at the Interstate 79 southbound off-ramp. Police cited Fowler for the traffic light violation. Paul E. Wagner Jr., 40, of Fredonia was the other driver.1:120 a.m. May 25 — Sony Paul, 32, of Moon Township, Allegheny County, fell asleep and lost control of his car, crashing into a wooded area and hitting several trees along I-79 in Jackson Township, Mercer County.Paul's passenger, 27-year-old Amartha Pabraham of Monroe Township, was taken to Grove City Medical Center with minor injuries. She was wearing a seat belt.Police cited Paul for disregarding traffic lanes.
