3:18 p.m. May 21 — Linda M. Claypoole, 51, of Butler was charged with retail theft and criminal trespass after she was stopped allegedly shoplifting $101 worth of merchandise at Walmart in Butler Commons.

State Police, Butler

8:12 a.m. Friday — A woman was injured after she crashed her car trying to avoid a deer on Route 8, near its intersection with Duffy Road in Brady Township.

Police said the car driven by Samantha M. Feola, 20, of Wendel hit a construction sign, a mailbox and a garbage can after swerving to avoid the animal.

She was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with unknown injuries. She was cited for a traffic lane violation.

9 p.m. Thursday — Erico J. Parenti, 24, of Harrisville is facing simple assault charges following a domestic dispute in Harrisville involving a 59-year-old woman, police said.

State Police, Mercer

May 20 — Christopher John White, 57, of Pine Township, Mercer County, was arrested in connection with an April theft-related case in Findley Township.

Police allege White on April 19 stole a paycheck from the 50-year-old victim’s home on Buckley Road. The suspect is accused of forging the check and depositing it via an automated teller machine into his personal account at a Grove City bank.

White was arraigned on felony charges of forgery, theft, receiving stolen property, and placed in Mercer County Jail on $10,000 bail.
