Teen injured this morning in roll over accident

SEVEN FIELDS — A 19-year-old woman suffered unknown injuries this morning after her SUV flipped over on a suburban cul-de-sac.

Patrolman Dan O’Leary of the Seven Fields-Evans City Regional Police Force said that about 7:10 a.m. Meagan Trotta of Seven Fields turned around at the end of Southridge Drive and lost control before flipping her vehicle.

“It’s under investigation. The SUV rolled over on its roof,” O’Leary said. “The extent of her injuries is unknown. She was transported to Cranberry UPMC.”

Resident Molly Glasgow, who was cleaning up near the accident, said Trotta was traveling about 25 mph when the accident occurred.

“It was a younger gal in an SUV,” Glasgow said. “She was distracted and hit the mail box and then flipped over.”

Glasgow said that the mailbox the teen hit belongs to Kevin Caridad, a Seven Fields borough council member.

Caridad said he was inside his home when the accident happened.

“I heard a noise. I went outside and saw the car upside down,” Caridad said. “We told her to sit still.”

Caridad said emergency personnel responded and helped the teen out of the vehicle.

“I’m just happy she’s OK,” he said.

Caridad’s mailbox was destroyed and a tree in his yard suffered damage.
