Butler Police11:57 p.m. Monday — Nicholas B. Defelice, 23, of Butler was arrested for felony assault after he allegedly broke his live-in girlfriend’s nose during a domestic dispute on the 100 block of Pillow Street.Officers noted that when they got there the victim, 25-year-old Lauren Cardona, had a swollen nose and blood running down her face, according to court documents. She told police that the defendant punched her in the nose.She was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for treatment. A doctor later advised police that Cardona suffered a fractured nose, court documents said.Defelice was arraigned on a charge of aggravated assault and placed in Butler County Prison on $20,000 bail.10:06 a.m. Saturday — David D. Gould, 27, was arrested after he allegedly assaulted Breanna Robinson during a domestic dispute at his apartment on the 100 block of South Main Street. He is accused of grabbing the victim’s arm and punching her in the face three times.Police said Robinson suffered injuries including a bloody lower lip and red marks on both forearms.Gould was arraigned on a charge of simple assault and placed in Butler County Prison on $5,000 bail.Thursday — Matthew L. Donaldson, 27, of Slippery Rock was charged with drugged driving in connection with a crash about 10:40 a.m. April 8 on the 100 block of West North Street. Police got there and found that Donaldson’s pickup truck had struck a utility pole.The suspect appeared impaired and admitted to officers, “I just shot three bags of heroin,” according to court documents. He was searched and found with eight stamps of suspected heroin and a syringe in his pants pockets.Donaldson was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test. Police recently received toxicology reports that showed the defendant had norfentanyl, a metabolite of fentanyl, in his system. Fentanyl is an opioid based painkiller.Donaldson is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, driving an unregistered vehicle, driving without insurance, driving without valid inspection and reckless driving.Thursday — Police charged Benjamin L. Lechien, 29, of Summit Township with drugged driving stemming from a traffic stop at 7:16 a.m. April 23 on the 100 block of South McKean Street.Officers said they stopped Lechien after finding his pickup partially pulled in a parking lot with the back end of the vehicle still in the traffic lane blocking other motorists.The suspect, who appeared to be impaired, admitted he had taken Adderall, a prescription drug used to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, according to court documents.Lechien was searched and found with a pill bottle that did not have a label on it. The bottle contained six Adderall pills. Police said he also had a film case that contained the anti-anxiety drug Xanax.He was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test. Recently received toxicology reports showed the presence of amphetamine and alprazolam, the generic name for Xanax.Lechien is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, and possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.

Butler Twp Police5:16 p.m. Friday — A vehicle driven by Jerome Musher, 70, of Wexford struck the back of another vehicle on Route 422. Musher told police that accident happened when his brakes failed. Howard Wilson, 67, of Beaver Falls, Beaver County, was the other driver.

Grove City PoliceTuesday — Police reported they filed theft charges in juvenile court against a 13-year-old boy caught with a stolen bicycle. The boy admitted he took the bike, according to a police report.2:10 a.m. Saturday — Barbara Ann McClimans, 55, of Grove City was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence at Carrie Way and George Junior Road. Police said she also was cited for driving on the wrong side of the road.

State Police, Butler1:24 p.m. Monday — Jerome P. Nordquist Jr., 53, of Butler was hurt in a three-vehicle wreck in Summit Township. The crash happened when a pickup truck driven by Luke D. Jackman, 21, of Butler struck the sport utility vehicle that Nordquist was driving on Herman Road just east of Zeigler Avenue.Following the collision, Jackman’s truck hit the back of another pickup that was parked on the side of the road.Nordquist, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with unknown injuries. Police cited Jackman for disregarding traffic lanes.11 p.m. Saturday — An Allegheny County man lost control of his SUV and hit a tree along Crab Run Road just north of Church Hill Road in Connoquenessing Township. Joshua C. Depietro, 28, of Crafton was cited for driving at an unsafe speed, driving on the wrong side of the road, careless driving and failing to immediately notify police of an accident.Friday — An identity thief used a 43-year-old Evans City woman’s bank debit cards to make $700 in fraudulent purchases at two stores in Ross Township, Allegheny County. A police report did not indicate there are any suspects in the investigation.May 9 — An unknown burglar made off with a Remington .22-caliber rifle and accessories during a break-in at a 22-year-old woman’s home on Ross Lane in Venango Township. The burglary, which is still under investigation, happened between 2 and 11 p.m.

State Police, Mercer7:50 a.m. Saturday — A car driven by Robert J. Swartz Jr., 20, of Mercer struck and sheared off a utility pole along Route 258 just south of Amsterdam Road in Liberty Township. The car continued into a steel fence post. Police cited Swartz for careless driving.Saturday — Two people were arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence during a sobriety checkpoint conducted over the Memorial Day holiday weekend in Pine Township, Mercer County.The checkpoint was held from 11:30 p.m. Friday to 2:30 a.m. Saturday at Route 58 and Irishtown Road.In addition to the drunken driving arrests, police issued several tickets, including seven for speeding, two each for faulty equipment and inspection violations and one for disobeying traffic control devices.8:50 p.m. Friday — A pickup truck driven by Ann M. Hefferan, 43, of Bradford, Pa., struck a deer on Interstate 79 just south of Blacktown Road in Springfield Township.
