Suspected drug dealers arrested

Roundup in the county continues

Two more suspected drug dealers wanted by Butler County narcotics officers are behind bars.

The Butler County Drug Task Force over the Memorial Day weekend arrested Sarah K. Barkley, 26, of Butler and Amber R. Kastelic, 22, of Fairview Township.

Officers earlier last week nabbed four other suspects as part of a roundup of alleged dealers wanted on felony arrest warrants for allegedly trafficking drugs in the county. The warrants stem from investigations dating to last year.

Barkley is accused in two cases of selling heroin to an undercover officer on Sept. 10 and 25 at her apartment in the 400 block of West North Street. She allegedly sold 10 bags of heroin for $100 on each day.

She was arraigned Monday on two felony charges each of delivery of a controlled substance and possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance.

Additionally, she is charged with misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance.

Barkley was placed in the county prison on $100,000 bail following her arraignment.

According to court documents, Kastelic sold nine pills of the prescription narcotic painkiller hydrocodone to a police informant on June 2, 2014. The $45 deal occurred on West Cunningham Street in Butler.

Seven months later, investigators said, she sold 10 bags of heroin to a police informant for $100. That deal happened Jan. 20 on Third Avenue in Butler.

Kastelic is charged in separated cases with two counts each of delivery of a controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance.

She was arraigned Saturday and placed in the county prison on $70,000 bail.
