Covenant PresbyterianThe sacrament of the Lord’s Supper will be celebrated during the Pentecost Sunday service this week at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 230 E. Jefferson St.The annual per capita donations for support of the Presbytery, the Synod and the General Assembly will be received during the service Sunday.Following the worship service, there will be a potluck in the assembly room.

First BaptistFirst Baptist Christian School, a ministry of First Baptist Church, 221 W. The Sowers ChapelThe Sowers Chapel, 100 Iron Bridge Road, Sarver, will have a community Memorial Day service at 11 a.m. Sunday under the high trees at the outdoor sanctuary.The late John R. Steele and all who served in the U.S. Armed Forces will be honored. The Steele family will receive a flag during a military honor guard presentation. St. John’s LutheranSt. John’s Lutheran Church of Connoquenessing, 100 Main St., Connoquenessing, will change the time of the Sunday worship service to 10:30 a.m. for the summer.The cause of the month is Lutheran World Relief School Kits for Children.

St. John’s ReformedSt. John’s Reformed Church, 494 Evans City Road, will welcome the new pastor, the Rev. Jarrod Crawford, at the Sunday worship service May 31.

St. John’s United Church of ChristWorshippers will wear red Sunday to celebrate Pentecost at St. John’s United Church of Christ, 501 E. Main St., Evans City. The strengthen-the-church offering will be taken during the worship service.The garden club will meet for a work session at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at the church.The church office will be closed Monday.

St. Mark’s Evangelical LutheranSt. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 201 W. Jefferson St., has canceled Saturday’s youth spaghetti dinner. Instead, it will be June 6.Confirmation will be at the 10:15 a.m. Sunday worship service. There will be a reception in the fellowship hall afterward.

Summit PresbyterianPastor Pierre, a missionary from Haiti, will be the guest speaker at the Sunday worship service at Summit Presbyterian Church, 181 Caldwell Drive. There will be no Sunday school, but there will be a farewell reception for three members who are moving. Pastor Pierre will be in the sanctuary at 11 a.m. to provide more information about his mission work. The youth group will not meet.The office will be closed for Memorial Day.Hoagie orders and Summit Herald information are due in the office by Tuesday.

Westminster United PresbyterianA come-as-you-are contemporary worship service will be at 7 p.m. May 30 at Westminster United Presbyterian Church, 210 Westminster Road, Sarver, in Clinton Township. Zion LutheranDiane Petrak will lead the Sunday worship service at Zion Lutheran Church, 266 Zion Church Road, Chicora, in the absence of Rev. Schock.There will be no youth Sunday school.
