NORTH BEAVER TWP, Lawrence County — The body of a 24-year-old man who died of an apparent gunshot was found Friday morning along Hoffmaster Road.

State police in New Castle identified the victim as Frederick D. Swilling of New Castle.

Swilling was found lying along the berm of the road about 8:45 a.m. Police are investigating the case as a homicide and are seeking information on the victim's whereabouts during the 12 hours before his body was found.
