Andrew R. “Bob” Tarcha, 78, of Butler passed away Tuesday at the Chicora Medical Center.

He was born Dec. 13, 1936, in Lyndora, the son of the late Andy Tarcha and Anna (Prokopchak) Tarcha.

Bob graduated from Butler High School in 1954 and Butler County Community College. He was a U.S. Army veteran, where he was a member of the baseball team. Bob was a member of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church. He also belonged to the Butler Elks Lodge 170 where he enjoyed playing pool and helping with bingo.

He had worked at Pullman Standard and retired from Traco.

He was a tremendous competitor and excelled in all sports but golf was his true love. He was a terrific mentor and loved to teach and coach. He had a warm smile for everyone and loved to share his creativity through his art and song.

Surviving are his wife, Margaret J. “Peg” (Walter) Tarcha, who he married Aug. 6, 1960; one daughter, Lynne (Rick) Hasychak; two sons, Tim Tarcha and Brad (Donna) Tarcha, all of Butler; four grandchildren, Lindsay (Ken) Crowley of Bethel Park, Richard (Brittany) Hasychak of Butler, Brach Tarcha and Private Tristan Fields; two great-grandchildren, Charlotte Crowley and Jaxon Hasychak; one sister, May Williamson of Lyndora; one brother, Jerry (Ellie) Tarcha of Butler; and two nieces and a nephew.

TARCHA — Friends of Andrew R. “Bob” Tarcha, who died Tuesday, April 28, 2015, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Young Funeral Home, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler.Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 201 W. Jefferson St., Butler, with the Rev.
