Golfers sought

The American Legion Post 778 Golf League is accepting all golfers, especially high handicappers, for this season.

The league plays every Thursday at Krendale Golf Course with tee times between 1:30 and 5:30 p.m. League dues are $40 for the year. Practice round begins Friday.

Early turkey season

Hunters ages 16 and younger may take advantage of an early-season spring gobbler opportunity beginning 30 minutes before sunrise Saturday, the Pennsylvania Game Commission has announced.

Pennsylvania’s youth spring turkey hunt is open to properly accompanied junior hunters and mentored youth.

Hunters of all ages may participate in the May 2 opener of the statewide spring gobbler season, running through May 30.
