Butler Police

Tuesday — Police charged Terry Beth Morse, 55, of Butler with drugged driving stemming from a March 24 traffic stop at Main and Wayne streets. Officers stopped Morse’s SUV after it nearly hit the side of the General Butler Bridge.

The defendant told the officers that she had taken several prescription drugs and admitted, “I’m in no condition to drive,” according to court documents.

Additionally, police said, she remarked, “I’m really tired.”

Morse was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test. Toxicology results subsequently identified eight medications in her system, primarily antidepressant and antianxiety drugs and amphetamine, documents said,

She is charged with driving under the influence of drugs and careless driving.

2:48 a.m. Friday — Phillip S. English, 22, of Butler Township was arrested for drunken driving on First Street. Police pulled the suspect over after his Jeep nearly hit a utility pole along East Brady Street.

Officers reported a “strong odor” of alcohol coming from English, court documents said. He failed field sobriety tests and was eventually given a breath test, which showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.226 percent, well over the state’s 0.08 percent legal limit.

English is charged with driving under the influence.

Butler Township Police

2:14 a.m. April 13 — David Weichey Jr., 32, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Delwood Road.

In addition to DUI, Weichey is charged with possession of a controlled substance, driving with a suspended license, driving on the wrong side of the road, failing to pull over for an emergency vehicle, careless driving, disregarding traffic lanes and a stop sign violation.

State Police, Butler

Monday — Police filed criminal and summary charges against Jay M. Smith, 20, of Butler stemming from a call shortly before noon April 12 reporting a man stumbling down Parker Road in Bruin. Troopers found Smith under the influence of drugs and pills that were not prescribed to him.

Smith is charged with possession of a controlled substance, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness.

State Police, Clarion

Tuesday — Kelli L. Gagliano, 45, of Toby Township, Clarion County, reported unknown suspects stole three rings from her home on Reigle School Road sometime this week.

The rings included two gold bands and one diamond ring.

Monday — A pickup truck driven by Bradley M. Miller, 35, of East Brady crashed into a utility pole along Route 68 in Monroe Township. Police cited Miller for disregarding traffic lanes.

State Police, Franklin

Saturday — An unknown vandal broke a window of a compressor building in Clinton Township, Venango County. Sar Gas Inc. owns the building that is about one-half mile east of the end of Dewoody Road. The vandalism happened between April 13 and Saturday.

State Police, Kittanning

2:40 p.m. Sunday — A 16-year-old Templeton girl was uninjured when she lost control of her car after being hit by an unidentified vehicle in Boggs Township. Rochelle R. Schawl was southbound on Bullock Road when the driver in the other vehicle tried to pass her.

The passing vehicle clipped the car on the front driver’s side. The car went off the road and rolled over an embankment, ending on its passenger side in a stream. Schawl was wearing a seat belt.

Police said the other driver did not stop after the crash. The Templeton Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene.

State Police, Mercer

3:13 p.m. Wednesday — One person was hurt in a two-vehicle wreck in Springfield Township. The crash happened after Nicholas J. Healy, 26, of Stoneboro apparently fell asleep, causing his car to hit the back of a van on Interstate 79.

The car traveled off the highway and hit an embankment and a tree. Healy, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to Grove City Medical Center with minor injuries. Police said he was cited for careless driving. Joseph M. Stein, 39, of Greenville was the other driver.

6:57 p.m. April 16 — Gary L. Ward, 56, of Grove City lost control of his pickup truck and crashed into a tree along George Junior Road in Pine Township.

2 a.m. April 11 — Shane M. Kramer, 34, of Grove City was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after he got his vehicle stuck in a yard on George Junior Road in Grove City.
