Senior center plans eagle view

EVANS CITY — The Evans City Senior Center is sponsoring a guided walk to view an eagle’s nest Wednesday, weather permitting. Everyone should meet at 1 p.m. at the bike rental on the North Shore at Moraine State Park.

Scrap metal drive scheduled April 18

WEST SUNBURY — Friends of North Trails Public Library and MRC Scrap Metals will sponsor the third annual scrap metal drive from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 18 at the library, 1553 West Sunbury Road, in celebration of Earth Day, April 22.

Electronics, wood, paint cans and tires will not be accepted.

Irish entertainer slated to perform

JEFFERSON TWP — “Ireland’s Happy Man” Cahal Dunne will perform at the Concordia Haven Apartments at 7 p.m. April 14 in the Haven I Dining Room, 112 Marwood Road (entrances 2A and 2B).

Dunne, a native of County Cork in Ireland, is an award-winning singer, songwriter, story teller and comedian.

Teen mentoring fundraiser set

BUTLER TWP — A Night at the Races, a fundraiser, will begin at 6 p.m. April 17 at the Butler Township Park Building, 468 S. Duffy Road.

Proceeds will benefit the nonprofit Connecting 2 Tomorrow mentoring program for teens age 14 and older.

Mental health training offered

The deadline to sign up for training offered by the Mental Health Association to parents and professionals dealing with mental illness, the Ombudsman program and NAMI is April 17.

The training will be from 11:15 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 23 at the Mental Health Association, 140 N. Elm St.

Divorce, custody seminar planned

BUTLER TWP — A Families Forever seminar, offered by Lifesteps, will be from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. April 18 at Lifesteps, 300 Stirling Village, Route 68.

Families Forever teaches parents how to minimize the negative effects on children involved in divorce or custody.
