James H. Bowman, 71, of Butler passed away Wednesday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born on May 1, 1943, in Butler, he was the son of the late Alto and Hazel Somerville Bowman.

He was employed as a courier at the Point Security Co.

James was a member of Saint Paul Roman Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife, Carol L. Fleischer Bowman, to whom he was married for 52 years; his son, Andrew J. Bowman and his wife, Connie, of Butler; his three daughters, Kimberly McClaine and her husband, Matt, of Butler, Theresa Tate and her husband, Joe, of Butler and Angela Reffert and her husband, George, of Butler, and his eight grandchildren, Amanda Washington, Melissa Kerner, Michael Kerner, Jr., Logan McClaine, Nicole Bowman, Adrian Lowe, Savannah Reffert, and George Reffert IV. He is also survived by his great-grandson, Thomas Washington, and one sister.

In addition to his parents, his granddaughter, Sarah Kerner, and his brother, Richard Campbell, preceded him in death.
