Butler Twp Police

Wednesday — Victoria Elizabeth Gibson, 24, of Butler was charged in connection with a suspected heroin overdose about 3 p.m. Feb. 10 in the bathroom at the McDonald’s Restaurant at the Greater Butler Mart.

Gibson faces misdemeanor charges of possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, and a summary charge of public drunkenness.

Wednesday — Police charged Justin M. Sanderson, 25, of Butler with deliberately damaging another person’s cell phone during an incident Feb. 11 at a convenience store on New Castle Road. Sanderson was cited for criminal mischief.

Grove City Police

2:04 p.m. Tuesday — Vehicles driven by Ronald Mills, no age given, of Mercer and Heather Bennett, no age given, of Slippery Rock collided on South Center Street at College Avenue.

Butler County Drug Task Force

Tuesday — Richard Lee Mackalica, 44, of Butler was charged in separate felony cases for two alleged drug deals last year in Butler.

Mackalica is accused of selling marijuana to a police informant for $30 on April 25 and for $25 on April 28. Both suspected deals occurred on West Wayne Street.

The defendant is charged with two counts each of delivery of a controlled substance and possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, both felonies. He also is charged with misdemeanor drug possession.

State Police, Kittanning

3:09 p.m. Feb. 23 — Three Ford City residents face drug charges following a traffic stop on Route 28 north in Harmar Township, Allegheny County. Police stopped the car, driven by Joel Bure, 33, for speeding and other traffic violations.

Troopers suspected Bure was impaired by drugs and called for a police drug recognition expert to evaluate him. Bure was eventually arrested for driving under the influence of a controlled substance.

Additionally, police said they found Bure and his passengers, Sasha M. Tarnek, 29, and Elizabeth M. Bure, 33, with drug paraphernalia and Tarnek with heroin. All three occupants are charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

Tarnek also is charged with possession of a controlled substance. Police cited Joel with speeding, careless driving and not using turn signals.

State Police, Mercer

7:14 a.m. Wednesday — A pickup truck driven by Sarah D. Croup, 28, of Sandy Lake struck a utility pole along Route 62 just north of Franklin Road in Jackson Township, Mercer County. The pickup ended on its roof after the crash.

Croup, who was not wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries. Police said she was cited for disregarding traffic lanes.

Wednesday — Police reported they continue to investigate the theft of a Harrisville man’s wallet Jan. 30 at the Grove City YMCA in Pine Township, Mercer County. The thief tried to order several items online using the victim’s debit and credit cards. It was not known if police have any suspects.
