I would like to thank Ben Holland, the Butler County controller, for looking out for the best interests of county residents and taking a stand by not paying the Housing Authority of Butler County.

If the two employees who are on administrative leave with pay are being investigated, then hold their pay, and when and if they come back to work, pay them back wages. Wouldn’t every employee love to have and extra two or four week, or more, of paid vacation. It sounds like a great thing to me.

I also feel that we taxpayers, have a right to know what is going on in the situation since it’s our money that’s being wasted for the leave. Why the big secret?

I would like to commend Holland for doing the job he was elected to do — controlling Butler County’s money. I am impressed with the way he has looked after our money in the brief period he has been in office. I hope he never becomes a member of the “Good Ole Boys Club.”
