Twila 'Lila' Devore

Twila Devore

Twila “Lila” Devore, 74, of Butler passed away Wednesday at Butler Memorial Hospital after an illness.

She was born on Nov. 19, 1940, in Butler, the daughter of the late Harrison and Elizabeth Roberts Ray.

Twila was a member of the First English Lutheran Church and worked at the YMCA Childcare Center from where she retired. She enjoyed baby-sitting and making special cookies for the holidays.

She was the cherished wife of 41 years of Carl J. Devore of Butler, and beloved mother of sons, Russell (Amber) Devore of Chicora and Roy (Amy) Devore of Chicora. She is also survived by her four grandchildren, Carly, Aden, Rielle and Gunner Devore; her two sisters, Sandra (Paul) Hetrick of North Carolina and Lucille Ray of Butler; her two brothers, Lewis Carl Ray of Butler and Alvin (Joann) Ray of Butler; her 38 nieces and nephews; her 82 great-nieces and nephews; her three sisters-in-law; and her three brothers-in-law.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert and Allan Ray; her sisters, Doris Forcht and Milly Ray; her three sisters-in-law; and her brother-in-law.

Devore— The friends of Twila “Lila” Devore, who passed away Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2015, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at theYoung Funeral Home, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler.Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the First English Lutheran Church, 241 N.
