Butler Twp. Police

10:54 a.m. Thursday — A vehicle driven by Angela Stietenroth, 18, of Farrell, Mercer County, struck two other vehicles stopped at a red light on Route 8 at Litman Road. Police cited Stietenroth for driving too fast for conditions. Donald Shearer, 33, and Patricia Bowers, 82, both of Butler, were the other drivers.

State Police, Butler

Today — Police reported they are investigating a case of identify theft that happened Dec. 2 when an unknown suspect used a Center Township’s woman debit card to pay for $180 worth of PlayStation video games.

3:50 p.m. Saturday — A pickup truck plowing snow at the state police parking lot in Butler Township accidentally struck the back corner of a parked van. The van sustained minor damage.

2:40 p.m. Saturday — An Armstrong County woman was hurt in a head-on crash in Cherry Township. The wreck happened when Leah J. Miller, 20, of West Sunbury lost control of her sport utility vehicle on snow-covered Route 308 just north of Pry Circle and crossed the center double yellow line.

Miller’s SUV collided with a minivan driven by Linda L. Roycroft, 64, of Worthington. Roycroft, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered minor chest and leg injuries. She was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Police cited Miller for driving on the wrong side of the road.

7:29 a.m. Friday — Someone in a pickup threw a coffee cup out of the window, hitting and damaging another motorist’s vehicle on Route 173 in Slippery Rock Township.

The suspect’s truck is described as white with a red snow plow. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.

State Police, Franklin

2:50 a.m. Sunday — A Clintonville woman was arrested after a domestic dispute on Mercer Road in Clintonville. Sarah S. Moldovan, 23, is accused of assaulting 20-year-old James E. Amon of Clintonville.

Moldovan was arraigned on charges of simple assault, harassment and theft, and she was placed in the Venango County Jail on $10,000 cash bail. Police said Amon was cited or harassment.

8:26 p.m. Saturday — Cars driven by Brandis Martinez-Downes, 60, of Polk and Zachary R. Davis, 27, of Grove City collided on Route 8 in Irwin Township just north of the Butler County line.

Police said Martinez-Downes’ car crossed into the opposing lane east of Duncan Road and struck Davis’ vehicle, which ended crashing into a snow bank.

Martinez-Downes, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to the Grove City Medical Center with minor injuries. He was cited for driving on the wrong side of the road.

5:33 p.m. Saturday — A Kansas man and a Kentucky woman were both injured in a one-vehicle rollover wreck in Scrubgrass Township that closed a portion of Interstate 80.

Rescuers with the Emlenton Volunteer Fire Department and Emlenton Ambulance tended to the driver, David R. Garcia, 40, of Topeka, and his passenger, Angela N. Gill, 25, of Richmond, before both were taken to the Grove City Medical Center.

Police said Garcia lost control of his van on slush and struck an embankment. The van rolled over and landed its roof. Garcia suffered minor injuries, and Gill suffered moderate injuries.

Garcia was cited for driving too fast for conditions.

State Police, Kittanning

7:17 a.m. Saturday — Brianna M. Bucher, 20, of Ford City lost control of her car on the snow and crashed into a guardrail on Route 28 just north of Saxonburg Road in Harrison Township, Allegheny County. Bucher was cited for driving too fast for conditions.

7:50 a.m. Thursday — Debra L. Crytzer, 45, of Templeton was hurt in a two-car collision in Boggs Township. The crash happened when the other driver, Cassandra D. Fennell, 26, of Kittanning, lost control of her car traveling down a steep hill.

Police said Fennell applied her brakes but the front wheels locked, causing the vehicle to slide into the opposing lane and to hit the left front of Crytzer’s car. Crytzer was taken to ACMH Hospital in East Franklin Township with minor injuries. She was wearing a seat belt.

No charges were filed.

State Police, Mercer

10:57 p.m. Saturday — Rodney Alan Davis Jr., 28, of Mercer was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Route 208 near Old Ash Road in Springfield Township.

7 p.m. Saturday — Three illegal aliens from South America were detained and then released after a traffic stop on Interstate 80 in Wolf Creek Township.

The suspects, three men, 22 or 23 years old, are all Ecuadorean nationals. Police notified the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Officers determined all three men are in the country illegally.

Police did background checks on the suspects and determined they were not national security threats. They were released after ICE declined to take them into custody.

Thursday — Someone broke into a home on North Liberty Road in Pine Township and stole numerous unspecified items.

8:58 a.m. Feb. 16 — A car driven by Molly E. Marino, 19, of Volant struck a large rock on Route 956 in Scott Township. Marino was cited for driving too fast for conditions.

State Police, New Castle

10:45 a.m. Saturday — Snow on the road was blamed for a one-car spinout accident in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County. Maureen L. Salmen, 49, of New Castle lost control of the car and struck a ditch.
