Knoch gets by Ford City, 39-38

P.J. Gourley scored on a layup at the buzzer to give the Knoch boys basketball team a 39-38 win over Ford City in the regular-season finale Monday night.

Aiden Albert hit four 3-pointers for 12 points to lead the Knights (13-9).

Hannah Roth scored 15 points, added eight rebounds and six assists as the First Baptist Christian girls basketball team defeated Cheswick Christian, 46-26, recently.

Caitlyn Mueller added 12 points and four assists, Lydia Roth eight rebounds and four steals.

Cheswick Christian 65, FBC (boys) 42 — Javier Iglesia had 17 points, six steals and five assists in the loss while Trevor Barnhart had nine points and seven rebounds.

FBC's junior varsity lost, 46-32, despite 14 points and 12 rebounds from Hirschy Kirkwood, 13 points, eight rebounds and six assists from Aaron Drake.

Penn Christian Academy (boys) — PCS defeated Evangel Heights 30-12 and Seeds of Faith 31-9. Landon Strahn had 14 points and five rebounds, Sam Hahn nine rebounds in the first game. Strahn had 16 points, Trevor Short seven rebounds in the second contest.

Penn Christian Academy (girls) — Ellie Norman scored four points in an 18-12 loss to New Castle. Katelyn Shaver had nine points in a 18-12 win over Grace Christian.
