Harold M. "Teeny" Freehling

Harold M. “Teeny” Freehling, 88, of Saxonburg passed away Sunday at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born on Oct. 6, 1926, in Cabot, he was the son of the late Merle Freehling and Alberta Dreher Freehling.

Teeny served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Roosevelt during World War II.

He worked as a blaster for Penn-Dixie Cement.

He was a member of the Zion United Methodist Church in Sarver, a lifetime member of the Saxonburg Volunteer Fire Company and a lifetime member of the Saxonburg VFW and the Sarver Vets.

Surviving are his wife, June Brinkley Freehling, who he married on Nov. 27, 1992; his siblings, Audley (Ann) Freehling of Saugus, Mass., Violet (Ted) Stewart of North Washington, Glenn R. (Mary) Freehling of Saxonburg, Phylis (John) Moore of Petrolia, and Jan Shannon of Middletown, Ohio; his stepdaughter, Barbara Patterson of Louisiana, and his many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorritt Freehling; his two brothers, Donald Freehling and Dale Freehling, and his sister, Carol Hoover.

Freehling — The friends of Harold M. “Teeny” Freehling, who passed away Sunday, Jan. 25, 2015, will be received from 2 to 4 and from 6 p.m. to funeral services at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Fox Funeral Home, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg, with the Rev. Robert Wilson officiating.
