Butler Police9:45 p.m. Saturday — Two brothers were arrested for attacking one another during a domestic dispute that left both bruised and bloodied at their home in the 200 block of Third Street. The siblings' mother also was hurt in the fracas after being hit in the back with a baseball bat.Andrew P. McConahy, 30, and Stacy J. McConahy, 29, were arraigned and placed in the Butler County Prison on $5,000 bail and $1,500 bail, respectively, following their arrests.According to court documents, officers could hear several people yelling inside the McConahy house after they were called there for a reported fight. The older brother, who answered the door, had blood on his forehead, face and leg.Police said the younger brother, too, was bleeding and had several marks on his wrist. The brothers' 62-year-old mother, Lucinda McConahy, who also lives there, was not spared either. She was complaining of soreness from being hit with the bat, apparently by Stacy McConahy, documents said.“The entire first floor of the residence was destroyed with broken items scattered around on the floor,” a police affidavit said.While searching the brothers, police said they found Andrew McConahy with an Adderall pill, for which he did not have a prescription, and five stamp bags of suspected heroin. Stacy McConahy had a buprenorphine pill, a drug commonly used to treat heroin addiction, for which he had no prescription.Both suspects are charged with simple assault and possession of a controlled substance. Andrew McConahy also is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

Tuesday — Mark Alan Porter, 27, of Butler was charged with driving under the influence in connection with a one-vehicle wreck earlier this month. Police said Porter about 11:10 p.m. Jan. 4 lost control of his car on Delwood Road near the Route 422 overpass and crashed over an embankment.Officers found the car in a 6-foot ditch but the driver was gone. Police later found Porter at his home.He is charged with DUI, careless driving, reckless driving and disregarding traffic lanes.Tuesday — Police charged Daniel J. Carricato, 25, of Butler with drunken driving stemming from a traffic stop at 1:10 a.m. Jan. 3 on Route 8 south. In addition to DUI, he is charged with driving without insurance, driving with suspended registration and careless driving.1 p.m. Monday — Nicole McCabe, 31, of Butler was caught allegedly shoplifting $108 in merchandise from the Walmart at Butler Commons. She is charged with retail theft.12:53 a.m. Sunday — A car driven by Janet Ann Smink, 68, of Saxonburg turned into the path of an oncoming vehicle, causing a two-vehicle wreck at Route 8 south and Hansen Avenue. Police cited Smink for disregarding a caution signal. John Swanson III, 44, of Pittsburgh was the other driver.3:49 p.m. Friday — A car driven by Juanita L. Marburger, 50, of Butler crossed the double yellow lines and collided with a pickup truck that was stopped to turn at Route 8 and Decatur Drive. Marburger, who suffered a minor injury, was cited for disregarding traffic lanes. Louis Gelormino, 58, of Butler was the other driver.Friday — Police charged Martha J. Bowser, 50, of Butler with stealing an elderly woman's change purse at the Trader Horn store at the Greater Butler Mart last month.The owner dropped the purse Dec. 30. Later, Bowser was seen on store surveillance video “putting the change purse down the backside of her pants and walking out of the store,” according to a police report.Bowser is charged with theft and receiving property.The report, meanwhile, noted that police are still seeking the owner of the purse. That woman is urged to call police at 724-285-9600.Thursday — A lawn ornament was stolen from the front porch of a home on Haverford Drive.3:27 p.m. Wednesday — A pickup truck driven by James Ketchem, 81, of Butler rear-ended a minivan on New Castle Road at Butler Commons. Police said Ketchem was cited for having no insurance and for driving a car without inspection and with an expired registration. He also was ticketed for careless driving.Tracey Smiley, 49, of Portersville was the other driver.4:39 p.m. Jan. 8 — A pickup truck driven by Dennis Schnitzki, 56, of Butler struck the back of a car on the off-ramp from Route 422 to New Castle Road. The other driver, Debra Reep, 45, of Butler was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.

Tuesday — A pair of Oakley prescription sunglasses worth about $300 and about $8 in change was stolen overnight from an unlocked vehicle in the 300 block of Bessemer Avenue.State Police, Butler1:39 a.m. Tuesday — A Venango County teenager was arrested after allegedly stealing a sport utility vehicle from a Connoquenessing Township home.The suspect, Dominic R. Hutchens, 18, of Emlenton, is accused of taking the 2004 Jeep Cherokee about 9 p.m. Sunday from the owner's house on Rolling Valley Lane. Troopers subsequently stopped Hutchens in the Jeep on Route 68 in Butler Township. Police suspect the teen was high on drugs when they stopped him. They also found him with suspected marijuana.Hutchens was arraigned on felony charges of theft and receiving stolen property. He also is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, DUI by a minor, possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and unauthorized use of a vehicle, all misdemeanors.Additionally, police cited him for driving without a license and not wearing a seat belt. He is in the Butler County Prison on $50,000 bail.

Tuesday — A 1997 Buick Park Avenue was reported stolen from the driveway of a home in the 300 block of Shay Road in Oakland Township, Venango County. The owner told police the car was taken between Dec. 24 and Tuesday.The vehicle is maroon and when stolen had the Pennsylvania license plate HCS8906. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 814-676-6596.State Police, Kittanning7:30 a.m. Sunday — Ronald J. Schwartz Jr., 28, of Templeton was arrested on charges he struck a 25-year-old woman in the face with a television remote control during a domestic dispute at his home on Lawsonham Road in Madison Township.Schwartz was arraigned on charges of simple assault and harassment and placed in the Armstrong County Jail on $1,500 bail.

Tuesday — The search continues for an Emlenton man wanted on charges that he crashed into a house in Springfield Township in his getaway from police last month.Police were initially seeking the suspect, 46-year-old Kevin Lewis McFadden, for absconding from state parole when they tried to pull him over in a vehicle about 12:20 p.m. Dec. 29. But the attempted traffic stop at Route 528 and Millburn Road in Springfield Township's Blacktown section failed.Instead, according to a police report, McFadden drove away, driving through four yards before hitting a home's porch. But that didn't stop him. Police said he fled the area and was last seen headed south on Route 258.District Judge Lorinda Hinch on Jan. 13 issued an arrest warrant for McFadden on a felony charge of fleeing or attempting to elude police.Additionally, he is charged with reckless endangerment, criminal mischief, reckless driving, careless driving, damaging property with a vehicle, driving with a suspended license, driving without insurance, driving an unregistered vehicle and improper display of a license plate.Tuesday — An unknown identity thief accessed a 40-year-old Grove City area man's PayPal credit card on Nov. 3. Police are investigating the case of access device fraud.
