Hazel Kurtz

Hazel Kurtz of Weeki Wachee, Fla., celebrated her 90th birthday with a family gathering in Florida. She also will celebrate with them during a Caribbean cruise.

The former Hazel Taylor was born Dec. 3, 1924, in Butler. She married the late Russell Kurtz on May 8, 1946, at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler.

She has three children, Larry Kurtz of Pittsburgh, Nancy Pugh of Butler and Joan McCandless of Weeki Wachee. She also has six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Kurtz retired from the Butler County Prison.

Before moving in 2007, she was a lifelong member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church.
