Butler girls fall in Arizona, 45-34

Alyssa DiPippa scored 19 points, but the Butler girls basketball team dropped the first game at the Nike Tournament in Phoenix, Ariz., to Central Catholic (Portland, Ore.), 45-34, Thursday afternoon.

DiPippa also had five rebounds for the Golden Tornado (3-3).

Julia Baxter added seven points and 10 rebounds for Butler, which was scheduled to play again this afternoon against a team to be determined.

Greensburg Central Catholic 78, Freeport 33 — Zoe Soilis scored 18 points as the Yellowjackets fell to 1-5 overall and 1-2 in the section.
