Between Dec. 14, 2014, and Jan. 5, 2015, volunteers will count birds during the 115th Audubon Christmas Bird Count. In Butler County, more than 100 volunteers are expected to list birds Jan. 3 in a 15-mile circle encompassing southern Butler County and parts of Allegheny County. Data compiled in the county will record every individual bird and bird species in the area, contributing to a vast citizen science network that continues a tradition stretching back more than 100 years.
