Lamont productive twice for SV girls

Michaela Lamont had quite a night for the Seneca Valley girls basketball team.

The Raiders' sophomore guard scored 16 points in the junior varsity game, but topped that with 21 in the varsity contest as Seneca Valley edged Beaver, 55-47, Monday night.

Melissa Carter added 10 points for Seneca Valley (2-1).

The First Baptist Christian girls basketball team won the Bobby D. Memorial Classic over the weekend in Johnstown.The team defeated Juniata Christian, 48-27, Friday as Hannah Roth had 13 points, seven assists and five steals. Lydia Roth had 11 points and nine steals, Caitlyn Mueller 12 points and nine rebounds, Shelby Poorman eight rebounds.FBC defeated Cambria Christian, 48-34, in Saturday's title game. Hannah Roth scored 19 points and added six steals and five assists. She scored her 1,000th career point. Lydia Roth had 12 points and five steals, Mueller 11 points and eight rebounds, Poorman 11 rebounds.The FBC boys finished second in the tournament, losing 66-39 to Bedford CIA in the title game. Javier Iglesia scored 17 points and had seven steals, Trevor Barnhart 13 points and nine rebounds, Aaron Drake five points.
