Twenty-eight Cub Scouts from Pack 51 in Saxonburg spent the evening of Nov. 20 enjoying a “Cubs in Service Night.”

The Scouts built 10 birdhouses that they will hang in Spring Valley Park, assembled 30 care packages containing health care items and snacks for U.S. troops serving in Romania, painted two checkerboard tables and checkers for the residents of Saxony Health Center, and made dog treats for the Butler County Humane Society.

The Pack was grateful to VFW Post 7376 for the use of its facilities, as well as the funding for the soldier care packages, and to Dick’s Sporting Goods in Butler, the Ladies’ Auxiliary of the VFW, Dr. Robin Cetnar, and Hobart Kenton for funding materials for these projects.
