Butler Little Theatre opens “The Complete Works of William Shakespeare, Abridged” Friday at the theater at One Howard St.

The three-man show will run Friday through Sunday and Dec. 2 to 6, with curtain at 8:15 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, 2:30 p.m. Sunday and 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Saxonburg will have its annual Christmas parade and light-up activities beginning at 7 p.m. Friday along Main Street and down North Rebecca Street.Live camels from Living Treasures will be part of the lineup, which will start in Dinnerbell Square behind Dollar General. The parade will end at Roebling Park.In Chicora, light-up night with activities are planned for 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, mostly outdoors on West Slippery Rock Street.Children will be treated to a reading of “Twas the Night Before Christmas,” face painting and ornament-decorating. Various foods will be available.Other highlights will be performances by Miss Butler County Becca Bly, Karns City students and carolers. A seasonal movie will be shown throughout the evening, and a family friendly dance will follow inside the Moose Lodge, from 8 to 10 p.m.

JEFFERSON TWP — The sixth annual holiday train display at Thorn Creek United Methodist Church, 142 Rockdale Road, will open Dec. 5 and continue through Jan. 4.Hours are 4 to 8 p.m. Fridays, noon to 8 p.m. Saturdays and noon to 8 p.m. Sundays. Extended hours are planned for Dec. 28 through Jan. 4, when the display will be open from noon to 8 p.m.Soups, sandwiches, snacks and refreshments will be available. The Bach Society will present its Christmas choral concert, “At the Manger” in December.The 30-year-old community choral group will perform Dec. 5 at Center Presbyterian Church in Slippery Rock and Dec. 6 at Tower Presbyterian Church in Grove City. Both concerts start at 7:30 p.m.Admission is free.

Allegheny RiverStone Center for the Arts announces several holiday events.A Madrigal Dinner is planned for 7 p.m. Dec. 5 and 6 at Lincoln Hall, 42 S. Palmer St., Foxburg. Cost is $35.Three Rivers Ringers, a handbell ensemble, will perform at 2 p.m. Dec. 13 at Emlenton United Methodist Church, 1303 Kerr Ave., Emlenton.
