Zelienople Historical Society will host its 22nd annual Christmas Home Tour on Dec. 6. Area homes decorated in a variety of styles will be opened for guests during the self-drive event that begins at 9 a.m. The $22 ticket price includes the tour and a catered luncheon featuring door prizes. Harmony Museum, 218 Mercer St., Harmony, has unveiled its 2014 Christmas season model railroad display and extended indefinitely a Flags of Freedom exhibit. Guided tours that include the 1809 main museum building and wine cellar and a neighboring early 19th century house, both built by the communal Harmony Society, and a Mennonite log house, are offered 1 to 4 p.m. daily except when the museum is closed Mondays and holidays. Carnegie Science Center, next to Heinz Field on the North Side, will show its Miniature Railroad & Village addition, a model of the Buhl Planetarium & Observatory, to the public starting Friday in commemoration of the planetarium’s 75th anniversary year. The Science Center continues the exhibit “Blue!” through Jan. 1. Science center hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturdays and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sundays through Fridays, except the center is typically closed during Steelers home games.
