Viola Forsythe

Viola Pearl Forsythe, 91, of Butler passed away Saturday morning at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born on Sept. 30, 1923, in Johnsonburg, she was a daughter of the late Russel Brown and Anna Zil Brown.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Meridian Presbyterian Church, where she taught Sunday school and had been a deacon. Viola enjoyed knitting and baking.

Surviving are her two daughters, Darlaine Thompson and Loraine (Mike) Bowser, all of Butler; her son, Russel E. Forsythe of Butler; her four granddaughters, Heather Thompson of Slippery Rock, Jennifer Pittore of Ohio, Jessica Bowser of Pittsburgh, and Cayce Bowser of Butler, and her two great-grandchildren, Ryan Pittore and Alyssa Pittore.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Russel A. Forsythe, who she married on Feb. 4, 1944, and who died on June 15, 2010.

Forsythe— The friends of Viola Pearl Forsythe, who passed away Saturday, Nov. 22, 2014, will be received from 11 a.m. until services at 1 p.m. Wednesday at theGeibel Funeral Home, 201 E.
