SUV crashes into building at Baglier this morning

BUTLER TWP — The driver of an SUV was injured this morning when he crashed into several structures at a car dealership on Route 8.

The older man, who was not identified, went to Baglier Buick GMC Mazda about 8 a.m. for an oil change.

When he pulled his GMC Jimmy into a service garage at the dealership, his throttle became stuck. The driver went to put the vehicle in neutral, but accidentally put it in reverse, causing him to back into the garage door behind him.

He then put the car back in drive, causing him to plow through the garage door in front of him. The vehicle continued to travel before halting when it crashed into the corner of the dealership’s body shop.

Company officials said the body shop still is operational.

None of the dealership’s vehicle inventory was damaged.

Butler Ambulance Service this morning was examining the driver and Butler Township police were investigating.

The South Butler Volunteer Fire Department also responded.
