A 'Teenage Blockhead'

Student play parodies famous comic strip

SLIPPERY ROCK — “Dog Sees God: Confessions of a Teenage Blockhead,” an unauthorized parody of the iconic Peanut’s comic strip, will be presented Nov. 6 to 8 in a student produced show at Slippery Rock University.

The independent play will be presented at 7:30 p.m. in Sheehy Theatre in the Maltby Center.

The play depicts characters such as CB, CB’s sister and Beethoven in the throes of their rebellious teenage years and contending with drugs and alcohol, mental illness, bullying and sexual identity. Those familiar with the Peanuts characters may recognize the characters in “Dog Sees God.”

The SRU cast includes Tyler Hahn, Emily Daning, Karter Schachner, Joe Karl, Alex Sharo, Mel Lyon, Erin Dansevicus, and Carina Iannarelli.

Tickets are $5 and will be available at the door.
