ADAMS TWP — The woman whose body was discovered in her Tenacity Trail home Wednesday night recently moved from the Pittsburgh area.

The woman is an African American, said Butler County District Attorney Richard Goldinger.

The woman’s name has not yet been released by police pending notification of her family.

Police said she had been shot in her head.

Her 5-month-old daughter was found in a child’s seat next to the body. The baby, who was unharmed, is in the care of an aunt, Goldinger said.

No weapon was found and there was no forced entry into the rental house, Goldinger said.

He said the woman’s body was found by a man and woman who were told in a call to check on the woman.

An autopsy is set for later today which will tell investigators the cause and manner of her death.
