WEST SUNBURY — An 88-year-old Chicora man died early Tuesday morning from injuries suffered in a car accident earlier this month.

John M. Weiland was pronounced dead at Allegheny General Hospital. He had been in the hospital since Oct. 6, when he was involved in a two-car accident in the borough.

The crash happened when Weiland pulled from a driveway onto Route 308 and collided with an oncoming minivan, according to a police report.

The minivan driver was not injured, but a passenger had minor injuries.

Eddie Young with the William F. Young Funeral Home in West Sunbury said Weiland suffered head injuries in the accident and was flown to AGH. Weiland was wearing a seat belt.

Young’s funeral home is handling Weiland’s arraignments.
