Monday — Police charged Patrick Lee Kaiser, 25, of Saxonburg with failing to turn in or notify authorities after finding a money order Aug. 22 at the Butler Commons' Walmart. Kaiser is charged with theft of mislaid or lost property and receiving stolen property.Monday — Frank R. Monpere Jr., 32, of Butler was charged with crawling under a truck at a home in the 400 block of Kohler Avenue on Sept. 14 and stealing the truck's tow hitch. He is charged with theft as well as loitering and prowling at night.Monday — Michael A. Timko IV, 35, of Butler was charged with stealing a helmet from a township home Aug. 12. Timko is charged with theft and receiving stolen property.Monday — Police charged Bradford E. Deless, 56, of Butler with criminal mischief and disorderly conduct stemming from a parking dispute Sept. 19 at the Sheetz store on New Castle Road.According to a police report, Deless got angry with another customer who pulled in front of him and into a parking space the defendant wanted. After the other customer went into the store, the defendant allegedly used his vehicle to push the other vehicle a few feet away from the parking spot.The victim's vehicle sustained minor damage.Monday — Police charged Charles J. Ruffner Jr., 32, of Boyers with two traffic violations stemming from a Sept. 19 chain-reaction crash that injured two people.Ruffner failed to stop his car in time and rear-ended another vehicle that was stopped on Route 68 near Barracks Road. The other vehicle, driven by William Wagner, 46, of Butler, was pushed into a third vehicle, which was driven by Valerie Shaffer, 57, of Butler.Wagner and Shaffer both suffered minor injuries. Police cited Ruffner for driving at an unsafe speed and driving a vehicle with an expired inspection sticker.1:40 a.m. Sunday — Sean McJunkin, 37, of Butler was arrested on a two-year-old bench warrant after police were called for a fight on Kohler Avenue.McJunkin was placed in Butler County Prison on the warrant that was issued July 2012 after he failed to appear for a hearing on a probation violation in connection with a 2004 felony drug conviction, Butler County Court records showed.Police, meanwhile, also charged McJunkin with possession of drug paraphernalia and public drunkenness.7:33 a.m. Friday — Edward T. Brown, 63, of Avella, Washington County, was hurt when a car he was driving rear-ended another car on Route 422 between Greenwood Drive and the Lyndora exit. He suffered a minor injury.Police cited Brown for driving at an unsafe speed. Philip J. Julian, 20, of New Castle was the other driver.8:07 p.m. Wednesday — A car driven by Genie Gibson, 36, of Butler struck a deer in the 400 block of Evans City Road. Gibson was not hurt but her vehicle was badly damaged and had to be towed away.4:07 p.m. Wednesday — Marsha Burns, 66, of Butler suffered minor injuries in a two-vehicle collision at New Castle and North Duffy roads. The wreck happened when April M. Resnick, 68, of Manorville, Armstrong County, ran a red light and collided with Burns' vehicle.Police cited Resnick for failing to stop at a red light.

6:42 a.m. Sunday — A sport utility vehicle driven by Natasha S. Claiborne, 31, of Farrell struck the back of another SUV on Industrial Drive. The crash forced the other vehicle, driven by Tyler J. Osborne, 31, of Kennerdell. Venango County, into a pickup truck driven by Samuel J. Campbell, 25, of Harrisville.Police said Claiborne was cited for an undisclosed traffic violation.3:23 a.m. Friday — Dale G. McCully III, 25, was arrested after he allegedly assaulted 22-year-old Cassandra Newmeyer during a domestic dispute at the couple's home in the 600 block of Flower Avenue.Newmeyer was treated at Grove City Medical Center for unspecified injuries.McCully was arraigned on charges of aggravated assault, simple assault and harassment and placed in the Mercer County Jail on $10,000 bail.Thursday — A remote control for a dog shock collar was turned in at the police station. The owner can claim it at the station at 337 E. Pine St.Wednesday — A burglar overnight used an unlocked window to break into a home in the 300 block of College Avenue. Money and prescription medication were taken. Police did not say if they have any suspects.6:01 p.m. Sept. 9 — A 15-year-old boy allegedly contacted an 11-year-old over social media and offered to sell the younger child drugs. Police said the teen portrayed himself as being a drug dealer and sent pictures of what he claimed was cocaine. A police report indicated the pictures actually were either sugar and/or flour.The teen in juvenile court faces charges of attempted delivery of a counterfeit substance and possession of a counterfeit substance.
