Appleseed festival slated Sept. 27

WINFIELD TWP — The Johnny Appleseed Festival will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 27 at the Sower’s Chapel, 100 Iron Bridge Road.

A children’s fun run will begin at 10:30 a.m.; Frank Cappelli, an Emmy Award winning musician, will play at 11 a.m.; and the Freeport Theater Festival will perform part of an original Johnny Appleseed play at 1 p.m.

The event will include pie and chili contests, hayrides, children’s games, face painting, crafts and food vendors.

Moniteau Class of ’74 reunites Oct. 4

The Moniteau High School Class of 1974’s 40th reunion will be from 7 to 11 p.m. Oct. 4 at The Brick House, 118 N. Main St.

Herbal Thymes Club plans fall festival

SARVER — The Herbal Thymes Club Fall Festival will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 4 at Heide Hall, St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 409 Sarver Road.

Homemade herb bread, mustard, herbal mixes and teas, dried flower bundles, Sweet Annie bundles, local handmade items, refreshments and door prizes will be available.

AAUW has used book sale Oct. 3, 4 at mall

Butler Branch AAUW (formerly known as the American Association of University Women) will have a used book sale from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Oct. 3 and 4 and from noon to 5 p.m. Oct. 5 in the center court of Clearview Mall, 101 Clearview Circle.

Roast will benefit North Trails Library

WEST SUNBURY — A community pig roast will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Oct. 4 at the West Sunbury American Legion Post 243, 1431 West Sunbury Road.

The event will include a 50/50 raffle and basket auction.

Proceeds will benefit the North Trails Public Library, 1553 West Sunbury Road.

4-H club opens with Oct. 6 meeting

Town and Country Kids 4-H club will have its first meeting of the school year Oct. 6.

4-H is open to boys and girls between the ages of 8 and 18. Club members have a variety of projects including dairy cows, dairy goats, meat goats, rabbits, arts and crafts, scrapbooking and genealogy.

The club meets the first Monday of each month. Field trip and event planning is under way for the year.
