Tuesday — Jesse J. Eaton, 20, of Butler was charged in a hit-and-run crash Sept. 10 on Center Avenue. Police suspect Eaton was driving a vehicle that struck the back of a car at a traffic light at Center Avenue and South Monroe Street, and moments later sped away.The other car, driven by Jennifer Snow, had undisclosed damage in the wreck.Snow and two witnesses provided police with information about the suspect's appearance and vehicle and the license plate number. Officers eventually tracked down Eaton. He is charged with hit-and-run.

10:07 p.m. Wednesday — A car driven by James Wentworth, 54, of Cochranton, Crawford County, struck the back of another vehicle on Route 356 near the Route 422 overpass The crash happened after the other driver, Cynthia Gerwig, 46, of Prospect, hit her brakes to avoid a deer that ran in front of her vehicle. Wentworth suffered a minor injury.2:48 p.m. Wednesday — Charmaigne D. Tack, 28, of Butler was arrested after allegedly shoplifting $280 worth of merchandise from the Walmart at Butler Commons.Tack was arraigned on charges of retail theft, possession of drug paraphernalia and trespass. She was placed in Butler County Prison on $7,500 bail following arraignment.4:28 p.m. Tuesday — A sport utility vehicle driven by Amy Sybert, 45, of Cabot rear-ended a car on Route 422 just before the Jefferson Street exit. Sybert suffered an unknown leg injury. Amanda Defranciscis, 19, of Renfrew was driving the car.

Wednesday — Police filed three charges against Larry E. Arblaster, 39, of Slippery Rock stemming from a disturbance Sept. 10 at a 55-year-old woman's home in the 500 block of Harmony Road in Slippery Rock Township.Arblaster is charged with trespass, criminal mischief and harassment.State Police, Clarion2:05 a.m. Thursday — Carl A. Shipton, 40, of Grove City was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs on Interstate 80 in Richland Township, Clarion Township,Monday — A thief, who police did not identify, stole an undisclosed amount of gravel from the Madison Township building on Madison Shop Road.

Thursday — Police issued a ticket to the driver of a car that collided with a school bus carrying four Karns City School District students Monday morning on Route 268 in Sugarcreek Township.Tiffany A. Steiner, 26, of East Brady was driving the car that turned at an intersection in front of the bus driven by Glenda L. Kaufman, 54, of East Brady.Firefighters had to rescue Steiner, who was trapped in the wreckage. A medical helicopter later flew her to UPMC Presbyterian hospital in Pittsburgh with moderate injuries.A 16-year-old girl riding on the bus was treated at ACMH Hospital in East Franklin Township for a minor injury. Sugarcreek Township, East Brady and Chicora volunteer fire department assisted police at the scene.Steiner was cited for making an improper left turn.3:05 p.m. Wednesday — Scott Hiles, 45, of East Brady allegedly fired three rounds from a pistol into the ground during an argument with another person on McElroy Road in Sugarcreek Township. No injured wee reported. Hiles was cited for disorderly conduct.Sept. 6 — A 40-year-old Butler woman is suspected of stealing prescription medication from a 54-year-old man's home on Lakeside Drive in West Franklin Township. Police said theft charges are pending against the suspect, who they did not identify.
