Stop the tax hikes

Can anyone explain why property owners in the Butler County are being forced again to pay a one mil tax increase even after it was determined that the budget was met for the year? Keep in mind, fellow taxpayers, the one mil increase is for the rest of your life, along with all the past yearly property tax increases over the last 10 years.

So let me get this correct: When the budget is underfunded, they raise taxes, and when the budget is overfunded, they raise taxes. Does anyone other than me find this unacceptable?

I am completely sick and tired of these yearly increases. Why aren’t more people questioning them? We have a handful of elected people in office making decisions for the entire county, affecting thousands of homeowners. We can’t keep allowing these people to raise our taxes every year. Have we ever seen a decrease in property tax?

Remember when casinos gambling was allowed in the state — they were supposed to increase state revenue and to help lower property taxes. Who’s lining their pockets with that money?

Start doing something, taxpayers, before you have to sell your house because you can’t afford the taxes.
