United Way sets campaign goal

The United Way of Butler County will kickoff its annual fundraising campaign Thursday at the Pittsburgh Marriott North hotel in Cranberry Township.

Executive director Leslie Osche said the organization is looking to raise $1.425 million during the campaign, which will last through June.

The United Way fell about $180,000 short of its $1.6 million goal during the 2013-2014 campaign. The figure also was more than $64,000 short of the campaign receipts from the previous year.

“We’re trying to be realistic while still asking people to stretch it,” Osche said about the upcoming campaign’s goal.

The United Way is hoping to focus much of its attention this year on education, financial stability, and health initiatives within the community.
