Thieves hit dealership

BUTLER TWP — Police are investigating a smash-and-grab theft spree this week at a car dealership in the township.
Four vehicles at Mikan Volkswagen on New Castle Road were broken into sometime Tuesday night or Wednesday morning.
Stolen from three of the vehicles were their combination sound/navigation systems, Butler Township Police said.
The vehicles were locked and the thief smashed out windows to get inside.
Investigators believe the same suspect is responsible for a similar theft at a VW dealership in Westmoreland County, and say they have a lead.
Police declined further comment but asked that anyone with information call the station at 724-285-9600.
