Owner assaulted in robbery at business

FINDLEY TWP, Mercer County — One of the men accused of robbing a township business has been arrested.

State police in Mercer responded to Butch’s Auto Sales on Mercer-Grove City Road in Findley Township about 6:15 a.m. Tuesday, and found that the 58-year-old business owner, who was not identified, was assaulted and robbed while he was trying to open the business.

He was taken to the Grove City Medical Center for treatment. A man who answered the phone at the business would not give the owner’s name, but said he was doing fine.

Two male suspects fled in a dark colored SUV when another employee arrived. The suspects were reported to be heading to Grove City.

A vehicle matching the description was spotted by Grove City police, and officers activated their lights and sirens.

The suspects fled the vehicle. One of them, who was unarmed, was caught shortly after 7 a.m. on Grove City College’s campus. The suspect, who was not identified, was being questioned Tuesday afternoon.

Police said that a second suspect was not captured as of Tuesday afternoon.

The incident led to the college being locked down from about 7 a.m. to 9:45 a.m.

Classes were canceled until 11:30 a.m.
