Stella Dorothy Kadunce

Stella Dorothy Kadunce, 101, of Oxford and Estero, Fla., formerly of Butler, passed away Saturday.

She was born on Aug. 11, 1913, in Yugoslavia and came to the United States through Ellis Island, N.Y., around 1919 with her mother, Mary Sarycic Nickichich. Her father, Joseph, was already here. The family settled near Pittsburgh.

In 1939, she married Albert F. Kadunce. They moved to Butler in the mid-1940s, where they lived until Stella moved to Steeplechase, Oxford, Fla., in 2012.

She was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Church in Butler from the early 1940s until her move to Florida, where she joined St. Mark the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church. She retired from the Sugar Bowl Confectionary in Butler with more than 25 years of service.

Mrs. Kadunce is survived by her loving children, Robert (Carole) Kadunce of The Villages, Fla., and Jeannette (David) McLaren of Estero, Fla.; her four grandchildren, and her great-grandchild.
