Thompson 99th birthday
Clara Thompson of Cabot will celebrate her 99th birthday with a family dinner in Butler.
The former Clara Jameson was born Aug. 20, 1915, in Petrolia.
Thompson married the late Robert K. Thompson on June 1, 1938, at the Lutheran Church in Gettysburg. They celebrated more than 74 years of marriage.
She has two children, Robert K. Thompson Jr. of Tucson, Ariz., and Larry J. Thompson of Delmont.
She also has six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Thompson was a school teacher for 29 years. She also worked for the Butler County Board of Public Assistance for seven years and the U.S. Public Health Service for a year and a half.
She is a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Chicora and a member of the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees.
