John B. “Jack” Campbell Jr.

John B. “Jack” Campbell Jr., 79, of Butler passed away Sunday in the comfort of his home after a yearlong battle.

Born on Sept. 6, 1934, he was the son of the late John B. and Elizabeth Sherbondy Campbell Sr.

Jack started his working career at Oberg Industries and later was one of the founders of Penn United Technologies. After retirement, he worked for Kelly Automotive Group in Butler.

He was a lifelong member and former Deacon of the First Presbyterian Church of Bakerstown.

He loved hunting and fishing until he began raising deer, fox and many exotic birds, and could not hunt them anymore. He enjoyed golfing, riding his motorcycle, collecting cars, sports, and working the farm. He loved the outdoors.

Surviving are his wife, Laura; his sister, Deanna “Dee” Park of Valencia; his niece, Lynne (Tom) Sevin; his nephews, Ron (Bev) Park and Michael Park; his great-nieces and great-nephew, Carinne, Alexandra, Cameron, and Nate, and his extended family, Jean and Travis Baker, George Doutt, and his grandson, Aidan George Baker, all of Sidney, Neb.

Campbell— The friends of John B. “Jack” Campbell Jr., who passed away Sunday, Aug. 17, 2014, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars.Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the First Presbyterian Church of Bakerstown, 5825 Heckert Road, Bakerstown, with the Rev. Karen Anderson, pastor, officiating.
