James “Jim” C. Osche

James “Jim” C. Osche, 68, passed away Aug. 7 at his home in Hermosa, S.D.

Jim was born on Jan. 17, 1946, in Butler to Geraldine Walker Osche of Butler and the late Carl Osche.

He graduated from Butler High School in 1963.

On Nov. 22, 1969, he married Karin Fracke while stationed at Spangdahlem Air Force Base in West Germany. Upon his return from the military as a captain, he attended and graduated from Slippery Rock State College. He later earned his master's degree from Michigan State University.

Jim was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed sharing his passion for the outdoors with his children and grandchildren. He was a member of VFW Post 303.

Survivors include his loving wife of 44 years, Karin; his two daughters, Heidi (Bob) Reams of Rockford, Iowa, and Lori (Matt) Redecker of Alliance, Neb.; his grandchildren, Justin Reams, Victoria Redecker, Ty Redecker, Emily Reams, and Amber Reams; his mother; his sister, Kathleen (Doug) Conklin of Butler, and his numerous nieces, nephew, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

In addition to his father, Jim was preceded in death by his father- and mother-in-law, Rolf and Gertrude Fracke.

Osche — A memorial service for James “Jim” C. Osche, who passed away Thursday, Aug. 7, 2014, was held Thursday, Aug. 14, at the Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis, S.D., with full military honors.Condolences may be sent to the family at P.O. Box 239, Hermosa, SD 57744.
