Penny Elaine Cypher

Penny Elaine Cypher, 63, of Cabot passed away on Thursday at Allegheny General Hospital.

Born July 27, 1951, in Brownsville, she was the daughter of the late Donald J. and Hallie Ann (Devers) Rupert.

She retired from Moonlight Mushroom after more than 20 years of service. She most recently worked as a CNA for Fairwinds Manor.

Penny enjoyed gardening, bluegrass music and festivals, cooking and canning, and spending time with her grandbabies and family. She had a very good green thumb.

Surviving are her loving children, George F. Cypher of Elderton, Debi K. (Shawn) Bell of Hyde Park, William “Bill” J. (Lynne) Bowser of Sarver and Roger L. (Kris) Cypher of Kittanning; her sisters, Donna Bortmas of East Butler and Marion “Muzz” Young of Chicora; her brother, George Rupert of Houston, Texas; her half-brother, Donald Rupert of Seattle, Wash.; 10 grandchildren with one on the way; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers.

CYPHER — Friends of Penny Elaine Cypher, who died Thursday, Aug. 14, 2014, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Fox Funeral Home, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the VA, the American Cancer Society or a charity of one's choice.
