Francis G. Horne

Francis Glenn Horne, 90, of Franklin Township passed away peacefully early this morning in New Haven Court at Clearview, Butler.

Born Sept. 26, 1923, in Mars, he was the son of the late William H. and Ida May Lewis Horne.

He was a 1941 graduate of Butler High School. He worked as a lab technician at Moraine State Park from 1968 until his retirement in 1986. He was a lifetime farmer on his family farm until the sale in 1996.

Mr. Horne was an avid deer hunter.

He is survived by his children, Joyce M. (Charles) Cranmer Jr. of Butler, William G. (Jacki) Horne of Laingsburg, Mich., Francis R. Horne of Boynton Beach, Fla., and Roy A. Horne of Butler; seven grandchildren, Tracy Messina, Scott Horne, Edward Allen, Angelina Allen, Linda Wright, William Lewis Horne and Roy A. Horne Jr.; 12 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by Thelma Horne Kline, the mother of his four children; his sister, Ethel Horne Laughner; his brother, William David Horne; and Regina Frenchak, his companion of 18 years.

HORNE — Visitation for Francis Glenn Horne, who died Friday, Aug. 15, 2014, will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Edward L. Raisley Funeral Home, 387 Main St., Prospect.The funeral service will be at 7:30 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home with the Rev. Jeff Curtis, pastor of Mt. Chestnut Presbyterian Church, officiating. Interment will be private at Greenlawn Burial Estates, Butler.Memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Chestnut Presbyterian Church, 727 W.
