8:34 p.m. Thursday — Brannon J. Irvin, 26, of Slippery Rock was arrested on a warrant in the 200 block of East Brady Street. The warrant was issued to Butler Township police the previous night stemming from a protection from abuse violation. Irvin was placed in the Butler County Prison.3:27 a.m. Thursday — Joshua K. Rivera, 29, of Butler turned himself in to police on a state parole warrant. He was placed in the Butler County Prison.9:47 p.m. Wednesday — William D. Dutter, 57, of Lyndora was arrested for violating a protective order after he showed up at his wife's home in the 300 block of Brown Avenue. Roshelle Dutter, 45, reported that she saw her husband outside her apartment. Later, she found a punctured tire on a truck that was parked there. She told police that she has a protection from abuse order against him. At 11:30 p.m., Butler Township police were called to William Dutter's home for a disturbance. Township police took him into custody and turned him over to city police for the alleged PFA violation. Dutter subsequently was placed in the Butler County Prison.

Wednesday — An unknown thief stole a pink and white girl's bicycle from a home in the 1000 block of Broadway Avenue in East Butler. The bike was taken between Monday and Wednesday.Wednesday — Police charged an Allegheny County teenager with trying to buy a bottle of alcohol with phony identification Aug. 4 at the state liquor store in Slippery Rock. Patrick R. Jobes, 19, of Munhall was cited for attempted purchase of alcohol by a minor and carrying a false ID card.

1:30 a.m. Thursday — Two suspected shoplifters were arrested on charges they stole nearly $1,200 in merchandise from the Walmart at the Hilltop Plaza in East Franklin Township. Later, the suspects — Larry A. Davis II, 32, of Leechburg and Alyssa N. Depanicis, 24, of Vandergrift — struck two other Walmart stores in Allegheny County. Police said the pair was caught shoplifting $2,260 worth of items at the Walmart in Harrison Township. During their getaway they dropped the merchandise. Next, they drove to the Walmart in Frazier Township, where police nabbed them after they allegedly tried to steal items valued at $2,024.Davis and Depanicis were arraigned on felony charges of retail theft, and placed in the Armstrong County Jail on $5,000 bail each.
