7:48 p.m. Tuesday — Melinda I. Claypoole, 24, no known address, was arrested for a probation violation on North Chestnut Street. Police, in assisting probation officers, searched Claypoole's purse and found a small bag of suspected marijuana and three empty stamp bags of suspected heroin.She was placed in the Butler County Prison on a probation detainer. Police also charged her with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.8:15 p.m. Saturday — Danny Lee Malone Jr., 20, of Franklin, Venango County, was arrested after police were called to the tier garage on West Cunningham Street to assist a medical crew treating someone who had fallen and was hurt.Officers determined the injured person, who police did not identify, and his companions “had no legal reason to be in the garage,” according to court documents. Police said when they tried to identify the others, Malone initially gave them a bogus name. He eventually told officers his real name.Later, officers learned that he was wanted on a bench warrant out of Venango County that was issued April 24 after he failed to appear for a court hearing in connection with a 2013 burglary case.Police charged Malone with false identification to law enforcement authorities. He was placed in the Butler County Prison on the warrant.

3:55 p.m. Monday — A car driven by Debra Freedline, 34, of Butler struck the rear of a pickup truck in the 400 block of Whitestown Road. The collision forced the pickup driven by John Rogers, 50, of Chicora into the back of another car driven by Sally Jo Kleemann, 62, of Butler.10:43 p.m. Sunday — A car driven by Tama Hoffman, 34, of Butler struck a tree in the 300 block of Whitestown Road. She was unconscious when emergency units arrived and was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital.2:18 p.m. Saturday — A car driven by Patricia Zabicki, 47, of Butler rear-ended a car driven by Robin Castilyn, 46, of Butler along New Castle Road. Zabicki was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.

Monday — An undetermined amount of money and a computer were stolen in a burglary at Oesterling's Feed and Farm on Erie Street. The break-in happened between 9 p.m. Saturday and 7:30 a.m. MondayPolice have no suspects. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-458-7925.11:26 p.m. Friday — Randy Bartolone, 38, of Mercer was arrested for possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia following a traffic stop. Police stopped Bartolone's vehicle for having an inoperable headlight.

10:41 p.m. Saturday — Daniel E. Link II, 32, allegedly choked his 12-year-old nephew during an argument at his home in the Port-O-Call trailer park in Penn Township.Link, while pinning the boy to the floor and holding him by the throat, also spit on him, according to court documents. Police said the boy was bruised and complained of pain to his tail bone.District Judge Sue Haggerty on Monday issued an arrest warrant for Link on felony and misdemeanor assault charges.

9 p.m. Tuesday — Four youths are suspected of throwing rocks at vehicles on Reesedale Road in Washington Township, Armstrong County. Police did not identify the suspects, one from Ford City and three from Adrian.They face charges of criminal mischief and propulsion of missiles in juvenile court.6:20 p.m. Tuesday — Kenneth Keibler, 28, of Ford City was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after he crashed his car at Bailey Avenue and Port Street in Manor Township.Saturday — An identity thief stole $1,400 from the bank account of an elderly couple in Bradys Bend Township using fraudulent credit card transactions between July 16 and Saturday.
