Police seek 2 suspects in store robbery
BUTLER TWP — Police are searching for two armed robbers — a man with a shotgun and a woman with a knife — who held up a sandwich shop Monday night.
No one was hurt but the masked bandits made off with an undisclosed amount of money from the Hoagie Shop at the Point Plaza on New Castle Road, township police said.
Investigators today would not say if they have any suspects.
“We’re looking into some leads,” said police Detective Sgt. Dave Fish.
Police were notified about 8:50 p.m., moments after the robbery that happened just before the store was to close.
Two employees told investigators that the robbers demanded the store’s money. The suspects, both white, wore bandannas that covered their faces.
The man, armed with a shotgun, was described as being about 6 feet tall. He wore a dark hooded sweatshirt and dark pants.
His accomplice, a thin woman, carried a small knife. She wore a gray hooded sweatshirt and shorts.
Fish declined to provide any further descriptions of the suspects. He also would not say if there is any surveillance video of the robbers,
Police said the pair fled the store on foot. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-285-9600.
