Myrtle Irene Knauff

Myrtle Irene Knauff, 88, of Orchard Manor, Grove City, formerly of Old Ash Road, Springfield Township, Mercer County, passed away of an extended illness at 6:45 a.m. Friday at Orchard Manor, where she lived since 2005.

She was born in Coolspring Township, Mercer County, on Nov. 14, 1925, the daughter of the late Donald G. King and Ruth L. Miller King.

She married Robert W. Knauff on Nov. 28, 1945. He passed on Aug. 5, 2001.

Myrtle was a homemaker and former waitress at the former Dad's Restaurant, Grove City. She had also previously worked at the Grove City Diner.

She was a member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Grove City.

Myrtle was a graduate of Fredonia High School. She formerly belonged to the Star Promenaders Square Dance Club, Sandy Lake, Paws and Taws Square Dance Club and New Castle and Ramblers Square Dance Club.

She is survived by her four children, Clifford E. Knauff and his wife, Linda S., of Farrell, Roberta Graham and her husband, Ronald, of Grove City, Daniel M. Knauff of Mercer and Mary A. Mathews and her husband, John H., of Harrisville; her six grandchildren; her 12 great-grandchildren; her great-great-grandson; her two sisters, Margaret Carbone and her husband, Dominick, of New Castle and Mary Kerr and William of Florida; her two brothers, Donald King and his wife, Faye “Tiny,” and George King and his wife, Peggy, all of Mercer.

In addition to her parents, Myrtle was preceded in death by her two sisters, Lucille King and Estella Knauff, and her brother, Howard King.

Knauff— Visitation for Myrtle Irene Knauff, who passed away Friday, July 25, 2014, will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Cunningham Funeral Home, 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Crestview Memorial Park, Grove City.Donations in memory of Mrs. Knauff may be made to the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 819 Columbia Ave., Grove City, PA 16127.
