Bad news, Bears

I would like to express my concern with the Butler County Bears and their cheer squad. I once was very supportive but their morals and standards have dropped. Their games used to be a family activity for Saturday nights, but it is no longer appropriate for children. It has gotten to the point where both the cheerleaders and the football players get into fights, two fights already this year — one between two cheerleaders on the same squad and one between another team.

Another concern is how the cheerleaders present themselves and their use of foul language. It disgusts me. At a recent game, one of the cheerleaders was asking a very sexual question to one of the players right in front of children! Imagine having your kids ask you what a certain something means that they heard at a so-called family event.

One of the cheerlading squad’s publicity photos shows the women bent over and lifting their skirts to reveal a paw print on their rear ends.

Butler County needs role models who are modest in their words and appearance. Our children see and hear enough swear words, violence and sexual situations on TV.

I hope things improve. Poor role models don’t deserve a field. I for one will not support the Bears until they start displaying a better example to the community.
